Description

  • 8 large eggs

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 2/3 cup chicken stock (or water)
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)

For garnishing

  • 1 scallion (sliced)
  • toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs: Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the eggs and boil for 7 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath, peel, and set aside.
  2. Make the sauce: In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, and chicken stock.
  3. Cook the eggs: Heat oil in a skillet, sauté garlic, add the sauce, then the eggs. Cook for 3 minutes, basting the eggs in the sauce.
  4. Serve: Serve the eggs over rice, garnished with scallions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For runny eggs, boil for 6 minutes; for hard eggs, boil for 9 minutes.
