Description

Spicy Beef Ramen is a flavorful and comforting dish featuring tender ground beef cooked with chili garlic sauce and spices, combined with perfectly cooked ramen noodles and topped with a soft-boiled egg for a rich, spicy meal that’s easy to prepare on the stovetop.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

Eggs

  • 3 large eggs, room temperature

Ramen Noodles

  • 4 packages beef ramen noodles

Garnish

  • ½ teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons green onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper. Cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
  2. Drain Grease and Add Garlic: Drain excess grease from the skillet. Add minced garlic and cook for one additional minute to release its flavor.
  3. Combine Sauces: Reduce heat to low. Stir in chili garlic sauce and rice wine vinegar. Mix well, then remove the pan from heat and cover to keep warm.
  4. Prepare Soft-Boiled Eggs: In a small saucepan, add about 2 inches of water and bring to a boil. Gently add the eggs and boil for 6 minutes. Immediately transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Once cooled, peel the eggs and set aside.
  5. Cook Ramen Noodles: In a large saucepan, bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil. Add ramen noodles and cook for 3 minutes or until tender. Reserve 1 cup of the noodle cooking water, then drain the noodles.
  6. Combine Noodles and Beef Mixture: Return the beef mixture to low heat. Add reserved noodle water, flavor packets from the ramen, and the cooked noodles. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  7. Serve: Divide the ramen into 6 bowls. Top each serving with sesame seeds, green onions, and half a soft-boiled egg. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Spicy Beef Ramen takes classic ramen noodles to the next level with a spicy and savory ground beef mixture.
  • The soft-boiled egg adds a creamy texture that complements the spicy beef.
  • You can adjust the crushed red pepper and chili garlic sauce quantities to your preferred spice level.
  • Use fresh green onions and sesame seeds for the best garnish flavor and texture.
