Dry Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of allspice
- Pinch of ground cloves
Wet Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups peaches, peeled and chopped
For Greasing:
- Butter, softened, for greasing pan
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter and dust with 1 tablespoon sugar.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, oil, and milk. Add to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Add Peaches: Gently fold in chopped peaches until evenly distributed in the batter.
- Bake: Transfer batter to prepared pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Once completely cooled, slice and enjoy!
Notes
- You can add a sprinkle of turbinado sugar on top before baking for a crunchy crust.
- This bread is best served warm with a pat of butter.
