Units Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of allspice
  • Pinch of ground cloves

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups peaches, peeled and chopped

For Greasing:

  • Butter, softened, for greasing pan
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter and dust with 1 tablespoon sugar.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, oil, and milk. Add to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Add Peaches: Gently fold in chopped peaches until evenly distributed in the batter.
  5. Bake: Transfer batter to prepared pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Once completely cooled, slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can add a sprinkle of turbinado sugar on top before baking for a crunchy crust.
  • This bread is best served warm with a pat of butter.
