Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts or thighs dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, chopped rosemary, thyme leaves, salt, and black pepper. Rub this seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken pieces to coat thoroughly.
- Brown the Chicken: Heat melted butter in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken skin-side down and cook until the skin is golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Make the Orange Glaze: In a separate bowl, combine honey, orange zest, fresh orange juice, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Glaze and Roast: Pour the orange glaze over the chicken in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). Roast for about 30-35 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the sauce has thickened and caramelized slightly, basting the chicken occasionally with the glaze.
