Ingredients

Units Scale

Cake:

  • 1 Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 6 Oreos, crushed
  • 6 Chocolate Chip Cookies, crushed
  • 1/4 cup M&M’s

Cake Filling:

  • 1 large Chocolate Pudding (instant or cook-and-serve)
  • 2 cups Milk

Cake Topping:

  • 1 tub Cool Whip (16 ounce), thawed
  • 6 Oreos, crumbled
  • 6 Chocolate Chip Cookies, crumbled
  • M&M’s, a couple of handfuls, sprinkled on top

Instructions

Cake:

  1. Prepare Cake Batter: In a large bowl, mix together the Cake Mix, Oil, Eggs, and Water, and stir until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.
  2. Add Cookies and Candies: Add the crushed Oreos, crushed Chocolate Chip Cookies, and M&M’s, and stir to blend.
  3. Bake Cake: Grease a 9 X 13 inch dish, and pour Cake Batter into dish. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Cool Cake: Remove the Cake from the oven, and cool completely.
  5. Thaw Cool Whip: Sit the Cool Whip on the counter to thaw while the cake bakes and cools.

Cake Filling:

  1. Make Pudding: When the Cake is cool to the touch, make the Pudding according to package directions.
  2. Poke Holes: Poke holes all over the cake with a round wooden spoon handle.
  3. Fill with Pudding: Pour Pudding over the top of the cake and down into the holes.

Cake Topping:

  1. Prepare Topping: Open the Cool Whip and stir to make sure it’s completely thawed and smooth.
  2. Add Cool Whip: Spread the Cool Whip over the top of the Cake, evenly, and smooth with the back of a spoon.
  3. Add Cookie and Candy Topping: Crush the Oreos and the Chocolate Chip Cookies, and sprinkle over the Cool Whip. Grab a couple of handfuls of M&M’s, and sprinkle over the Cool Whip – you can use as many as you like.

Notes

  • You can use any type of chocolate cake mix you prefer.
  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use chocolate pudding mix in the filling.
  • Get creative with the toppings! Add other candies like peanut butter cups or sprinkles.
  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the pudding to set.
