This Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon is a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy flavors glazed over tender salmon fillets. It’s an easy 20-minute recipe featuring a sticky, garlicky sauce made with honey, soy sauce, and sriracha, finished under the broiler for a caramelized, delicious crust.
Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
- 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)
Sauce & Cooking
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 Tbsp water
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Season the salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels. Season evenly on all sides with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and blackening seasoning if using. Set aside while preparing the sauce.
- Preheat and prepare skillet: Adjust your oven rack to the middle position and preheat your broiler to avoid burning the glaze. Place a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter and olive oil. Allow the butter to melt fully.
- Make the garlic honey glaze: Add minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice to the skillet. Cook the mixture for about 30 seconds, just until it’s heated through and aromatic, forming a flavorful sauce.
- Sear the salmon: Place the salmon filets in the skillet skin side down if using skin-on fillets. Cook for 3 minutes, frequently basting the tops of the salmon with the sauce by spooning it over to keep the glaze flavorful and moist.
- Broil the salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil the salmon for about 5 to 6 minutes. Halfway through, baste the salmon again with the sauce. Continue broiling until the salmon is caramelized on top and cooked to your preferred doneness.
- Finish and serve: Remove the skillet from the oven. Garnish with minced parsley if desired. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Sticky sweet and garlicky, this glazed salmon recipe comes together in just 20 minutes.
- Adjust the level of sriracha for desired heat intensity or omit for a milder flavor.
- Use skin-on salmon for crispier texture; ensure to baste frequently to keep glazed topping moist.
- Make sure to broil on the middle oven rack to prevent the honey glaze from burning.
- This recipe pairs well with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
