Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 3/4 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

For the Crust Oil:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Pizza Toppings:

  • Fresh mozzarella (pearl size)
  • Fresh basil
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Gluten-free pepperoni
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Pizza sauce

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, honey, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the Dough: Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and all the remaining dough ingredients to the yeast mixture. Mix well until combined. The dough will be thick and sticky.
  3. Rest the Dough: Form the dough into a ball-like shape in the bowl. Drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cover the bowl with a tea towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for 45-90 minutes.
  4. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 450°F. Lightly oil a cookie sheet or pizza pan.
  5. Shape the Crust: Roll out the dough onto the prepared pan and gently press it into a heart shape. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Make Garlic Oil: In a microwave-safe dish, combine butter, olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Microwave for 10 seconds or until melted. Stir to combine.
  7. Brush the Crust: Brush the garlic oil mixture over the entire crust, including the edges.
  8. Par-bake the Crust: Bake the crust for 7-10 minutes, or until it’s just set and no longer doughy.
  9. Add Toppings: Remove the crust from the oven and add your favorite pizza toppings.
  10. Increase Heat and Bake: Turn the oven up to 500°F. Bake the pizza for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the toppings are golden.
  11. Cool and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

  • The parmesan powder in the crust adds a unique flavor and helps compensate for the lack of gluten.
  • The garlic oil adds a delicious flavor to the crust.
  • Ensure all toppings are gluten-free for a completely gluten-free pizza.
