Pizza Pockets:
- 16 oz ball fresh pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup pizza sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg yolk, whipped with a fork in a small bowl
- Salt + pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to a 1/4 inch thick rectangle.
- Cut the Dough: Slice the dough into 8 rectangles and roll them out to about 8 inches long.
- Assemble the Pizza Pockets: Spread sauce, cheese, and toppings on one half of each rectangle. Fold over and seal with a fork.
- Brush with Egg Wash: Brush each pizza pocket with the egg wash.
- Bake: Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet and bake for 12-17 minutes or until golden brown.
