Description

These juicy Garlic Steak Kabobs feature tender sirloin steak cubes, colorful vegetables, and a rich garlic butter finish. Perfect for grilling season, these kabobs are a mouthwatering blend of smoky, savory flavors with a buttery garlic finish that will elevate your outdoor dining experience. Easy to prepare and quick to cook, they’re an ideal option for summer gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb Sirloin Steak
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 8 oz Mushrooms (white or button)
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak: Cut steak into 1″ cubes. Make sure to trim any excess fat and try to cut the pieces uniformly to ensure even cooking. Pat the steak dry with paper towels before cutting for better results.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: Remove seeds from the green bell pepper and cut into 1″ pieces. Cut the red onion into 1″ pieces as well. Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel and leave them whole if small or cut in half if larger.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Heat a grill to medium-high heat (around 400-450°F). Make sure the grates are clean and lightly oil them to prevent sticking.
  4. Assemble the Skewers: Insert meat, onion, pepper, and mushroom pieces onto skewers in an alternating pattern. Leave a small space between each piece to ensure even cooking.
  5. Oil and Season: Brush the assembled skewers with olive oil, making sure to coat all sides. Then season generously with salt and pepper.
  6. Grill the Kabobs: Cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning the skewers about every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking on all sides. The steak should reach an internal temperature of 135°F for medium-rare or 145°F for medium.
  7. Prepare Garlic Butter: While the kabobs are cooking, melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl by heating for 1 minute, stirring and repeating until completely melted. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and set aside.
  8. Finish with Garlic Butter: Once the kabobs are done, remove them from the grill and brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor.

Notes

  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before loading them with meat and vegetables. This will prevent them from burning on the grill.
  • For the most tender kabobs, avoid overloading the skewers which can lead to uneven cooking.
  • Let the steak sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting to ensure more even cooking.
  • For added flavor, you can marinate the steak cubes in your favorite marinade for 1-4 hours before assembling the kabobs.
  • These kabobs pair wonderfully with rice pilaf, grilled corn, or a fresh green salad.
