Scale
For Thin Mushroom Breading:
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms, cleaned
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
For Thicker Mushroom Breading:
- 2 eggs
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms, cleaned
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
- Vegetable or canola oil, enough to create an inch or more of oil in the pan if pan-frying or enough for your deep fryer
Instructions
- For Thin Mushroom Breading: Pour mushrooms into flour/salt mixture and stir or shake to coat.
- Heat oil in the pan over medium heat if pan-frying. If deep-frying, heat oil to about 375°F. Combine flour and seasoned salt in a large bowl or zip-top bag.
- For Thicker Mushroom Breading: Coat mushrooms in eggs, then seasoned flour. Place mushrooms in heated oil and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, flipping if necessary.
- If deep-frying, fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve warm.
Notes
- Wash mushrooms but do not soak to prevent them from retaining water and not cooking properly.
- You can add extra seasonings after frying for more flavor.
