- 1/3 cup brown sugar

- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, onion powder, salt, and liquid smoke.
- Simmer: Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cover with a lid.
- Thicken: Simmer and stir occasionally until the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
- Cool and Store: Use right away or store for later use. Allow it to cool before placing it in an airtight container and storing it in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce.
- If you don’t have liquid smoke, you can omit it, but it adds a signature smoky flavor.
