- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring, more as desired
- 5-6 cups cornflakes
Decoration
- 72 cinnamon imperials (red hots) or mini M&M’s
Instructions
- Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pan over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup of salted butter. Once melted, add 10 ounces of mini marshmallows and stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Flavor and Color: Remove the pan from heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon of green food coloring. Add more food coloring gradually until you reach the desired shade of green, stirring to combine evenly.
- Mix in Cornflakes: Add 5 to 6 cups of cornflakes into the marshmallow mixture. Gently stir until all cornflakes are well coated with the green marshmallow mixture.
- Shape Wreaths: Line a baking dish or countertop with parchment paper. Butter your hands to prevent sticking, then take 2-inch spoonfuls of the cornflake mixture and shape each into a wreath shape on the parchment paper.
- Decorate: Place three cinnamon imperials (red hots) on one corner of each wreath to mimic berries and add festive color.
- Store: Allow to set, then store the wreaths in a covered container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
