Salmon Bites:

  • 1 lb. salmon filet skin and bones removed and sliced into 1 inch (2.5cm) cubes
  • 1/3 cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice fresh squeezed
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced or grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce or 3/4 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 Tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 Tablespoon butter or dairy-free butter

Garnishes (optional):

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Chili crisp oil, sriracha or garlic chili sauce (optional to make spicier)

Instructions

  1. Marinate Salmon: In a medium bowl, mix tamari, lemon juice, paprika, honey, garlic, ginger, and chili sauce. Add salmon cubes to the mixture and marinate for 5 minutes.
  2. Cook Salmon: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add avocado oil, then sear salmon cubes for 2 minutes. Add butter if using. Flip salmon cubes, pour in marinade, and let simmer while cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Finish and Serve: Remove salmon from heat, thicken sauce if needed, spread any leftover sauce on salmon, garnish with sesame seeds and cilantro, and serve.

Notes

  • To prep salmon, remove bones and skin.
  • Best eaten fresh, store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To make in the air fryer, preheat to 400°F (205°C) and follow instructions adjusting cook time accordingly.
