Description

This Crab Fried Rice is a quick and easy seafood dish that’s packed with flavor. Tender crab meat, fluffy rice, and crisp vegetables are stir-fried together in sesame oil and seasoned with soy sauce and lime juice for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 (6-ounce) can lump crabmeat, drained
  • 23 tablespoons soy sauce, or more to taste
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Vegetables: Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the sesame oil, onion, and carrots. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  2. Add Garlic and Rice: Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the cooked rice and stir-fry until heated through.
  3. Scramble Eggs: Make a well in the center of the rice mixture. Pour the beaten eggs into the well and scramble them until cooked. Mix the scrambled eggs into the rice.
  4. Add Crab and Seasonings: Stir in the drained crabmeat, soy sauce, and lime juice. Toss to combine. Season with onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use day-old rice for fried rice. It has less moisture and will fry up better.
  • You can adjust the amount of soy sauce to your preference.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables, such as peas, corn, or bell peppers.
