Ingredients
Scale
Fudge Base
- 3 cups good quality semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Walnuts
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (divided: 3/4 cup for folding in, 1/4 cup for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Dish: Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper and set it aside to ensure easy removal of the fudge later.
- Melt Chocolate Mixture: Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a large bowl and pour the sweetened condensed milk over them. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Let the mixture stand for 1 minute, then stir until smooth. If the chocolate chips haven’t fully melted, continue microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted and smooth.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt until combined thoroughly to enhance the fudge’s flavor.
- Incorporate Walnuts: Fold 3/4 cup of the chopped walnuts into the chocolate mixture, mixing well to distribute evenly.
- Set the Fudge: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top with a spatula. Press the remaining walnuts evenly on top to garnish.
- Chill: Cover the dish with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes or until the fudge is fully set and firm.
- Serve: Use the parchment paper to lift the fudge out of the baking dish. Cut into approximately 25 small squares and serve chilled or at room temperature.
