Description

Boursin Mashed Potatoes are a luxurious and flavorful twist on classic mashed potatoes. The creamy Boursin cheese, infused with garlic and herbs, adds a rich and sophisticated taste, making this side dish perfect for special occasions or everyday indulgence.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 1/2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, or red potatoes
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (5.2 ounces) package Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs Gournay Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Wash and quarter the Yukon Gold potatoes. Feel free to leave the skins on if you prefer.
  2. Boil Potatoes: Add the potatoes to a large pot and fill the pot with enough water to cover the potatoes. Boil for 10-15 minutes, or until tender.
  3. Drain Potatoes: Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add Ingredients: Add the softened butter, heavy whipping cream, softened Boursin cheese, garlic powder, coarse salt, and cracked black pepper.
  5. Mash Potatoes: Use a potato masher or electric hand mixer to mash until incorporated and creamy. Mash them to your desired consistency. Leave them chunky or make them smooth. Be careful not to over-mix the potatoes!
  6. Season to Taste: Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with additional butter and chopped fresh parsley, and serve warm!

Notes

  • Yukon Gold or red potatoes are recommended for their creamy texture.
  • Leaving the skins on adds texture and nutrients.
  • Do not over-mix the potatoes, as they can become gluey.
  • Use softened butter and cheese for easier incorporation.
  • Adjust the amount of salt and pepper to your preference.
  • For an extra creamy texture, you can use a potato ricer.
