Scale
For the Taco Ring:
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
For Serving:
- Shredded lettuce, for garnish
- Guacamole, for dipping
- Salsa, for dipping
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and taco seasoning, cooking until the meat is fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the taco ring.
- Prepare the Crescent Roll Ring: On an ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange the crescent dough triangles in a ring shape with the short sides forming a 6-inch circle in the center. The dough triangles will overlap slightly to form a base.
- Add the Filling and Cheese: Spoon the cooked ground beef evenly over the wider sections of the dough triangles, close to the center. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef.
- Shape the Ring: Fold the pointed tips of each crescent triangle over the filling, tucking them under the bottom layer of dough to secure the ring and enclose the filling.
- Bake the Taco Ring: Place the cookie sheet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool Slightly and Serve: Allow the taco ring to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing into wedges. Place a bowl of guacamole and salsa in the center of the ring for dipping. Garnish with shredded lettuce if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add chopped onions or jalapeños to the ground beef while cooking.
- Feel free to substitute cheddar with another cheese like Monterey Jack or Mexican blend.
- Warm the crescent rolls slightly before assembling for easier handling.
- This dish can be served with sour cream or additional toppings as preferred.
- Make sure to tuck the dough tips securely under the ring to prevent them from unrolling during baking.
