Description

These Air Fryer Chicken Wings are the ultimate combination of juicy interior and perfectly crispy exterior without the need for deep frying! Made with a simple seasoning blend and cooked to perfection in an air fryer, these wings are easy, quick, and utterly delicious. They’re great for game nights, parties, or as a snackable appetizer that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lb Chicken wings (flats and drumettes, either fresh or thawed from frozen)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (optional, but recommended)
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken Wings
Pat the chicken wings very dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This step is essential for achieving the perfect crispy texture.
  2. Season the Wings
In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with baking powder, olive oil (if using), sea salt, and black pepper. Ensure all wings are evenly coated for consistent flavor and crispiness.
  3. Arrange in Air Fryer
Place the seasoned chicken wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding or stacking. If needed, cook in batches to ensure every piece gets crispy.
  4. Cook at Low Temperature
Air fry the chicken wings at 250°F for 15 minutes. This step starts the cooking process and renders some of the fat out of the wings. If using frozen wings, add an additional 10 minutes at this step.
  5. Flip and Increase Temperature
Flip the wings over to ensure even cooking. Increase the air fryer temperature to 430°F (or the highest your air fryer goes). Continue air frying for 15-20 minutes, or until the wings are perfectly crispy and fully cooked. Adjust the cooking time based on the size and thickness of the wings.

Notes

  • Tip for Extra Crispiness: For ultra-crispy wings, ensure the wings are consistently dry and avoid crowding them in the air fryer.
  • Baking Powder Selection: Use aluminum-free baking powder to avoid any aftertaste.
  • Serving Ideas: Pair these wings with a dipping sauce like ranch, blue cheese, or your favorite buffalo sauce for an added flavor boost!
  • Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for 5-7 minutes to maintain crispness.
