Description

Quick and easy 2-ingredient strawberry donut holes with a simple powdered sugar glaze. Perfect for a fast dessert or snack that’s both delicious and versatile.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Donut Holes:

  • 1 cup strawberry Greek yogurt
  • 1 3/4 cups self-rising flour

Homemade Self-Rising Flour (Optional):

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Glaze:

  • 1 heaping cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp crushed freeze-dried strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven or air fryer: Preheat your oven to 400℉ (or your air fryer to 350℉). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (or spray your air fryer basket with avocado oil).
  2. Prepare homemade self-rising flour (if needed): If you don’t have self-rising flour, substitute it by whisking together 1¾ cups all-purpose flour, 2½ tsp baking powder, and ¼ tsp salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Mix the dough: Add the yogurt and self-rising flour to a medium bowl. Mix well until a dough forms. The dough should be only slightly sticky. If it’s too sticky, add 1 tbsp of flour at a time and mix with your hands until the dough is manageable.
  4. Shape and bake: Using a cookie scooper, scoop out the dough into balls (about 1½ tbsp per ball). Shape them as best as you can into round balls and space them out on your cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden on top. Do NOT overbake. For the air fryer, bake for about 5 minutes or until light golden.
  5. Prepare the glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add more milk if necessary to achieve the desired consistency. Dip the tops and sides of each cooled donut into the glaze.
  6. Add the finishing touch: Sprinkle the tops of each glazed donut hole with crushed freeze-dried strawberries. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Recipe is adapted from KirbieCravings.com.
  • Ensure the donut holes are completely cooled before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting off.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days for the best taste and texture.
  • For a healthier twist, use a yogurt with lower sugar content.
